The Philippines: Cost of Travel

Currency: Philippino Peso ( USD 1= PHP 51.30)

So, the total cost of one's tour to the Philippines will depend on a number of factors, such as the following:

Price of Air Ticket (when and from where are you flying into the Philippines and to which city are you flying into).

Note: It is pretty cheap to fly into the Philippines especially the big cities such as Manila, Cebu, etc with both full-service airlines and low-cost carriers from cities of South East Asia such as Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, etc. So it is always cheaper to visit the Philippines as a part of your trip to South-East Asian countries, that is Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines in one trip or something similar.

However, even if one is planning to visit only Philippines from Bangladesh you may still be able to save cost on air ticket by buying Promotional Tickets on Low-Cost Carriers as well as full-service airlines with offers. For example, at the time of writing this article, the cheapest ticket to Manila, Philippines from Dhaka (Return) is for June 23 and returning on August 1, 2018, which is costing just BDT 32,370 by Scoot. However, be prepared to pay extra for luggage if you are carrying one. I personally prefer not to carry any luggage if I am flying LCCs.

Cost of Hotel/ Accommodation is something which completely depends on the YOU personally. One can stay for just a few dollars in most cities of the Philippines if you decide to stay at a hostel (except for some islands, which are developed for luxury travel). However, even hotels in the Philippines is not expensive at all, an Air Condition Double Room will set you back USD 15 to 20 at a normal hotel with good facilities.

Tour planning meaning the places you will visit, is something which again depends on you completely. Some may prefer to do island hopping while others may simply stay in one city and enjoy the nightlife, shopping and nearby attractions. So the cost of internal/ domestic travel by air or other means of transport is something you may have to take into account if you are visiting the Philippines.

Domestic Flight ticket can be purchased at a very reasonable rate with a number of low-cost airlines serving the Phillippines including Air Asia, Cebu Pacific, etc. One can fly from Manila to Cebu (Return) for as lows as USD 50 if purchased a few days before the date of travel.

Coming to the total cost of the trip, as already stated will depend completely on you!

However, for some general idea, I am sharing & eone of the most popular itineraries for BD people, considering we are SHORT & SWEET travellers on most occasions..haha ;)

Tour to Manila, Luzon & Boracay (6 days/ 5 Nights), which involves:

-First, flying into Manila obviously which will cost between USD 150 to 200 if you are flying to and from one of the South-East Asian cities such as Bangkok! and USD 450 to 500 if you are flying to and from Dhaka.

-Second, hotel in Manila which I am counting as USD 30/ Night for a reasonable and good quality hotel.

-Third, flight from Manila to Caticlan (Return) for USD 70 (if purchased a bit in advance)

-Fourth, ferry to Boracay Island from Caticlan (including other transport to reach your hotel/ resort) and back USD 30

-Fifith, hotel/ resort in Boracay, which once again depends on your choice, however, I would personally love to splurge a bit even if I am a budget traveller, so I am counting USD 100/Night for 2 Night, i.e. USD 200.

-Last, day trip to Luzon USD 100 to 120 for 2 people (one car) which will be cheaper per head if you have more people in the group.

So, all in all, USD 940 for 2 people, for a semi-luxurious trip from South East Asian cities, USD 1300 for 2 people from Dhaka for a comfortable 6 days/ 5 nights trip. Plus the cost of visa processing.

Hope, you can get some idea from the above post, however, there are a lot of other things including deep-sea diving, scuba diving, other water sports, etc which you can avail.

Cheers & Happy Travels! :)
