I had applied for my first Laos Visa in Phnom Penh while visiting Cambodia in October 2015 and it was really easy.
The embassy did not really create any problem for being a Bangladesh national. However, I was asked to submit a receipt of hotel booking for my stay in Laos, Which I did and the visa officer asked me to collect the visa the next day.
I got my passport with Laos Single Entry Visa valid for 2 months. The visa fee is USD 45.
Documents Required: 1. Passport 2. 1 Copy Photo 3. Hotel Booking Voucher (Booking.com's will do)
Update: At the time of this visa application and even my later Lao PDR Visa Application in October 2018, ONLY Lao Embassy in Phnom Penh (Cambodia) was accepting visa applications from Bangladeshi. However, the situation has changed since then. NOW Lao Embassies in MOST if not ALL South East Asian countries (like Lao Embassies in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Phnom Penh, Yangoon) have also started accepting visa applications from Bangladesh nationals. The documents requirement vary a little from embassy to embassy and so does the processing time.
