So, China has turned into a sort after destination in the recent years for Bangladesh nationals mostly for Business purpose, however, a number of people do go there for tourism as well, and it's not a surprise. With 100s of destinations and several 'die-for" sites to see and feel, it should definitely be on every travellers "to-do" list.
Things to Note: The process for Chinese Visa (which varies from applicant to applicant depending on the visas they hold, if they have previously travelled to China, etc.)
I applied for my 2nd Chinese Visa on 8th May 2018, as I was in a hurry to get my passport back on time for Schengen Visa submission at the French Embassy on 13th May. I opted for the Express Service which cost Tk. 3000 officially over the visa fee, but most agencies charge Tk. 3500 to 4500 for this service.
Along with the usual requirements mentioned below, there is a specific requirement for Bangladesh nationals, i.e. an invitation letter from the registered agency in China and this is where Travel Agencies in Bangladesh becomes the life saver and money-sucking entity at the same time. However, you can just calm yourself down by thinking of agencies as necessary evil when it comes to Chinese Visa.
Documents Required:
General Requirement for ALL Chinese Visa Application:
(1) Passport: Original passport with at least six months of remaining validity and blank visa pages, and a photocopy of the passport's data page and the photo page if it is separate.
(2) Visa Application Form and Photo: One completed Visa Application Form with two recently-taken color passport photo (bare-head, full face) against a white background.
(3) Proof of legal stay or residence status. If the applicant is not a Bangladeshi, please present the original copy and photocopy of resident permit in Bangladesh.
&
L-Visa (Tourist Visa) Specific Requirement:
Applicants should submit one of the following sets of supporting documents:
(1) Invitation letter issued by authorized travel agencies and applicant's bank statement. The bank statement should prove that the applicant has at least 100 USD each day during his/her stay in China.
(2) Invitation letter issued by travel agencies registered in the Mainland of China, hotel reservation with complete payment, detailed travel schedule in China, round air ticket and bank statement. The bank statement should prove that the applicant has at least 100 USD each day during his/her stay in China.
Basically, you need to provide your Bank Statement, NOC/ Trade License/ Visiting Card and Photo to your agency in case you are a first-time applicant for Chinese Visa. If you already had a previously issued Chinese Visa, it becomes simpler! I only had to submit my Bank Statement (Not even solvency), Visiting Card & Photo.
As mentioned I opted for Express Service, I expected to receive the passport by 10th May i.e. after 2 working days. But to my surprise, I received a call from the agency on 9th afternoon (I applied on 8th afternoon) that my passport was ready. So the whole process took less than 24 hours! I parted with my passport for about 18 hours exactly!
Cost: The agency charged me Tk.15000 for Double Entry Express Service, but the actual visa fee is much lower and it varies depending on the type of visa you are applying for & type of service you opt for. Cheers & Happy Travels!
