Kindly note that it is never a good idea to simply pick up visas when you have no intention whatsoever to travel to that country before the visa expires.
Yes, sometimes visa expires due to change of plan unexpectedly, but a visa which is not used to travel adds NO VALUE to your passport or travel history. Perhaps, the opposite happens! As it shows you may be providing unintended/false itinerary to the embassy next time when you apply for a visa. (I am no authority on such matter, but this is what I learnt from the last 11 years of travels)
Writing this part because I know a number of people who do so! For example, I had met a bunch of Bangladeshi gentlemen who took Thai Re-Entry permit apparently to fill up their passport even though they won't be travelling to Thailand within the given period and they knew it! Another one, sitting right beside me, was proudly saying how he took visas for Cambodia and Laos but never had any plan to travel there. But, now that his passport is "Bhari", he would apply for US Visa once he went back to Bangladesh. Frankly, it's a complete waste of money, time, passport pages as well as such activities only demerit your future visa applications.
I too have wasted two visas (Japan & Argentina) in recent times, but that was because of a sudden change in travel plan and few other matters including the Covid-19 pandemic. I am not at all happy about it, as I feel, I have wasted way too much energy, money and endured much pain obtaining those visas.
Things to Note: Somehow even after being aware of the above, if you still have one or more unused visas in your passport, take the effort to justify it in your cover letter, especially when you apply for your next visa to those countries (which issued those unused visas) and also for visa applications such as Schengen, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Japan, etc which gives tremendous importance to your travel plan.
